Picoterie comes from the french words « picot » and « picotement », expressing the tingling sensation of eagerness.
Therefore, Picoterie is defined by two ideas, the first one is the result of what occurs when a boost of activity is restrained. It’s the peak of a moment of impatience.
Picoterie is not only the spike of a restrained desire in a busy day but also the underlying fear of boredom. This second idea is how someone seeks for a peak of activity, a distraction in order to avoid dealing with the sensation of emptiness.
Picoterie est le fruit du temps d’attente retenant un élan d’activité. Ce moment d’impatience où nous cherchons une distraction pour ne pas sombrer dans l’ennuie, de combler l’impression « de ne rien faire ». C’est un picot de suspens dans une journée bien remplie.
