Film photography on matte paper, 15 cm x 21 cm
«Front profile – Right profile – Left profile», such is the canon of Bertillon’s judiciary anthropometry and the basis for this photographic series. By overlaying it with the graphical code of topographic maps, I obtain scrambled portraits.
With these juxtaposed lines, characters lend each other their physical traits, confronting themselves to the point of confusion.
By trying to define too much, paths are blurred.
« Face – Profil droit – profil gauche », tel est le canon de Bertillon pour ses anthropométries judiciaires. En empruntant ce canon comme base de cette série photographique et en y superposant les codes graphiques des cartes typographiques, j’obtiens des portraits brouillés.
Les différents personnages se prêtent leurs traits et par ces lignes qui se superposent, se confrontent jusqu’à se confondre. À vouloir trop définir, on brouille les pistes.
